Pressure treated studs, go to 12" centers. Use either 1/2 or 5/8 Durock, comes in 4x8 sheets. It will make your curve just fine. This unit sits in the corner and has a curved front edge. My plan is to build a 2x4 stub wall that supports the deck and then tile the wall and deck. I'm interest in the floor of the recess, where the soap or shampoo will rest. It seems the you need a slope to get the water out, yet you don't want the soap sliding out on its own. The shower I'm tiling has 6x6 ceramic tile walls. Someone told me that you can alternate the slope of smaller tiles on the shelf, but I'm not ... |
