The current siding is wood shingle. It will make a mess of the shingle above and below to remove a row to attach the header. Can I just nail/bolt the header right to the siding? Behind the siding is 1/2" ply and then upright 2x4's. I plan to used galvanized 4" nails and try to hit as many of the 2/4'... |

What is the "DPC"? What type of foundation is it? Without seeing it crack sounds like it could be minor differential settlement. Brick needs tuck-pointing, $6-8/sq ft CAN, if existing mortar is hard it costs more. ... |

First time buyer, seen a property I really like, but don't have the funds to get a survey done on this one, find out it's got a big prob, and have to walk away and get survey on another property etc...
