"Weatherlawyer" - OK; your house got badly flooded... - ..=2E. and Fema is reneging on the deal. Where do you start? You have the potential to claim $40,000 from a $115,000 job. But that's a job that you'd have to call in the builders for. Your house is intact but the damage has taken out the walls and everything in the house up to waist height. Of course by the time you get back in, the slime has crawled all over the place. F...

"Rudy" - Re: Interior painting - >.. when I mentioned primer, they asked why I couldn't use a cheap > white latex paint? Can I? What does a primer do that an extra layer of > paint won't do? Primer is made for just that. It produces a better bond/coverage with the drywall 'paper' IMO than plain paint and gives the paint a good base to bond to. We used Behr PVA primer in our last house and Glidden latex primer i...

Thomas Kendrick - Re: Strip nail galvanizing question - Check to product code on the end-flap of the box and match it with Senco's description of that code. Most brite nails (no metallic coating) are dipped in an adhesive that improves holding power. Is the entire nail bare metal or just the upper half above the adhesive. The fact that there are only 2500 in the box suggests that what's supposed to be in there is HDG since more plain "brite" ...

"69strat" - Re: New road put in next to us- water issues - Bob, you're right the drain is now plugged up with mud. I have been in contact with an official from the city. He saw the situation and says they (the builder) needs to address it. It's just I don't know what to tell him to do. The builder is asking me what I want! Shouldn't they have the engineers to figure this out right?! I told the builder that I don't want that extra water ru...
