"hanson" - Labeler - I would like to purchase a labeler to label receptical cover plates, wires, pipes, bins, etc. I purchased a labeler that uses a hard plastic "tape"; the characters a pressed into the tape which becomes white in the areas that where pressed. The labels look fine, but they fall off easily. Have you had any luck with a labeler for the uses described about? I have been looking at Dyn...

PhantMan@hotpopcom.invalid - Installing 5V Crimp sheeting on a roof - I'm replacing a 29 Gauge 5 V-Crimp metal roof damaged (mostly missing) by Katrina. The original sheeting was installed with nails, some of which have backed partially out over the years. How do you drive a nail through that stuff without creating a dimple around the hole (under the nailhead)? I've been told the modern way to do it is to use self drilling screws but nobody at Lowe's or H...

"Bobk207" - Re: Concrete Slab Question - Where is this structure located? I would dowel in to the slab with steel for the wall & consider grouting more often than 48". Andy Asberry - Concrete Slab Question - This is on a farm; no inspections of any type. I have a 8'x8'x6" slab that I had a feed bin on (now gone). The leg anchors (4) of the bin were 6 feet on a side. In other words, one foot in from each edge of the slab. Where the anchor bolts for the legs are there is an 8" pier 4' deep. There is no perimeter beam. #3 rebar on 12". What I want to do is build a block building 8' high, ...

"Gern Bletner" - Changing a thin coat plaster finish - I'm remodelling a house that is just 11 years old. It has thin coat plaster (over drywall) in several different finishes and I want to have one uniform finish throughout. Most of the thin coat has sand in it, some is knocked down, some not, and some is a random swirl finish. The ceiling is in the best shape with a nicely done uniform swirl pattern in even rows. BUT my wife hates the ...

"tom" - Re: Drip edge installation for eaves vs rakes? - Sorry, Mr. Whitney, I now realize that you aren't the OP. If the starter course was fastened properly, you probably won't be able to slip the DE up and under. But if you can, then all you'll need is a fastener about every couple/few feet to secure it. Mind that they're placed where they won't see any water from the course above. Tom . ...
