"Nehmo" - Re: cieling height? - - D. J. MCBRIDE - > It's certainly more volume to heat/cool. - Nehmo – Heat & cooling requirements are dependent more on surface area than volume. If you increase the height of the walls, let's say in a rectangular prism, volume increases directly with wall height. But total surface area, including the area of the top and bottom, doesn’t increase as rapidly. A cube doubled in heig...

dirt farmer - Techshield on overhangs - I want to cover my entire roof, including the gable end and rafter overhangs with Techshield, which has an OSB backing. This may not be acceptable, since I've noticed that new construction in the area has Techshield extending just to the top plates, and then the overhangs are covered with plywood (is this what starter board is?). "clintonG" - Re: Treated lumber vs. Thompson Water Seal? - What happened to common sense? Pressure treated is just that. Enormous pressure is used to force water and rot resistant compounds into the deepest fibers of the wood whereas brushed or sprayed sealers penetrate minimally in comparison.
