This helps for comparisons, if you know what to look for. Some provide a list of buyers who may allow you to personally ask questions that you generally list. A manufactured home does not come with land and utilities. Some will contract the utitliy install for you. Others, you're own your own. ... |

Have to reset this clock. Oddly, the outlet that supplies the power to the microwave is GFCI. Maybe the electricians screwed up when the house was built? Anyone know if this is a problem? ... |

I would think a 6" to 8" expanding masonary bolt would be about the right length. If you have to drill close to the top (within 2") you might want to use threaded rod and an epoxy. -- JerryD(upstateNY) I... |

However electrical inspectors demand it in my locale; for good reason. All smoke detectors get powered from a dedicated 15 amp circuit that only powers the smoke detectors. Any other electrical problem therefore does not remove electricity from smoke detectors. My answer does not help you demand a correction by the e... |

] [ 156228 ] [ alt.building.construction ] [ view full article ] "Bruiser" - Timber Deck on Concrete Pool - I have an inground concrete pool and I want to build a timber deck around it. The deck will only be about 250mm from the ground to match the height of the top of pool. My question is, is it safe to attach a ledger board to the pool shell? The pool shell is 300mm thick reinforced concrete, and I would drill in 50mm and insert an expanding masonary bolt to hold the board. My pool builder h... |

For example: (Front and Back pitch was a 6 and the side pitch was a 9) or ( one was a 7 and the other was an 11) Either way on all homes framed the sofit and fascia was consistent on all sides of the house. Yes... 1 inch... r-40. It's expensive but great for limited space. A number of the timber framers around here are starting to use it since it's so useful for limited space areas. The roof is a 12/12 pitch and the ceiling is 96". This space could be finished off if desired. The builder installed the window bottoms ( they are different height and width ) at the same 36" from the floor. This resulted in the tops of the windows being different distances from the ceiling. I would have done it with t... |

Cellulose insulation isn't flammable. There are a lot of borates in the formula that make it impossible to ignite. Grab a handful at Home Depot and put a torch to it. I have. Won't burn. Foam is flammable, but there are formulas available today that aren't like they were 10-15 years ago. Foam burns, but the smoke, though colored differently than the... |
