A year after living in our newly constructed ranch house we noticed that the floors were separating from the floor molding in one area of our house. It turns out that one of the posts holding one the the I-beams was loose causing it to sag AND the I-beam was installed upside down. The builder put new posts in and have been cranking on them to get the I-beam straight. ... |

I think I'll try to get him to have the city engineer look at it. I think he may just be inclined to completely leave it alone. Bob, while I understand how difficult it is to provide advice without first hand viewing, it is a very basic structure. I appreciate any advice anyone can give and realize that everything from a newsgrou... |

The wall is actually already in place and was built right up to the beam. The studs right now have very little weight on them but the roof is yet to be shingled, and we do get snow of course in this area. I talked to the structural engineer and he didn't seem overly concerned. . ... |

I had them in my outside wall and couldn't get to the hole very well to spray so at night I fastened a vacuum cleaner hose near the opening. The next day I turned on the cleaner. Every hornet that came out was sucked up by the vacuum. There were some that had left before I turned on the cleaner and when they tried to get back to their nest, they were su... |

Throw in 20 percent. What you have left over may be for the house. However, some builders will do the whole kit and kaboodle. This substantially raises the costs as the builder takes his cut in this. The more you do, the less expensive the total outlay. Some ... |

Any marine supply store will have the necessary components. Essentially what you are looking at is a potable water delivery system for a boat. They are typically operated via a small battery operated pump hidden in the cabinet. They are about the same size as 2 packs of cigarettes. try West Marine "No" |
