If someone can prove they own a now-destroyed house in a disaster area, FEMA do something for them. I don’t know how FEMA with work in the Katrina aftermath. The last time Kansas City had declared disaster areas, FEMA distributed pl... |

When building our home, the bank agreed to loan us $168K - it ended up costing us over $210K (2300 sq ft. timber frame) - however, as Lil Dave pointed out, the septic, well, site work, driveway etc are significant... those items were 25% of our budget. . ... |

But it could be that the new Sloan valves are quieter and with a newer valve the Kohler would be quieter. In any case check Consumer Reports at the library for their ratings. "Edwin Pawlowski" |

] [ 156433 ] [ alt.building.construction ] [ view full article ] "Art" - Re: Those new BLAST flush toilets? - One advantage of these toilets, at least the ones with a Sloan valve, is that they detect back pressure and cannot overflow. If they feel backpressure they stop flushing instantly. Also mine are 8 years old and although I have 4 of them, I've only had to replace 1 small component in all that time. I would have gone thru many more parts with a gravity toilet by now. "Bill" |
