"James \"Cubby\" Culbertson" - Re: Where can I shop for construction equipment (i.e. cement mixer) [Vancouver area]? - That's the one I've been using. Model 31979 I believe. So far so good. Too bad you aren't closer, I intend to sell it when done with this project as I really don't have a need for it afterwards. As for the box, IIRC, it's around 3ft long, 2ft. wide, and maybe 18" high. HerHusband - Re: Foundation - Robert, > I'm planning to build a 12' X 16' shed. > I plan to anchor it on piers to save the cost of a poured slab. I think if you total up the cost of the lumber for beams, floor joists, subfloor plywood, etc., you will find it actually costs more than pouring a simple slab (at least that's the case in my area). It's a lot faster and more durable too. > I plan to dig 9 ...

"clintonG" - Re: Canopy using steel hollow sections?Advice please. - Look uo or down most streets these days and you will see all kinds of framed canopies implemented by retailers and merchants. Why not talk to a couple of companies that design and build signs? They can help you understand wind loading, bracing, connectors, weldments and so on and most especially recommend a reliable manner to attach to another structure if the final design requires...

"Astro" - Re: Low E Insulation - As others have noted, this WILL act as a moisture barrier, which is not a bad thing if the house envelope is designed for that. In fact, the plastic and aluminum coating will be a complete barrier for moisture, having an extremely low "perm" rating. You can also get perforated material that will let moisture to transfer through. Here's the stuff: http://www.blueridgecompany.com/radi...

"rider89" - Re: What are Heat Strips - The heat strip is a metal framework with the heating element wire strung in a pattern.
