Techshield on overhangs

I want to cover my entire roof, including the gable end and rafter overhangs with Techshield, which has an OSB backing. This may not be acceptable, since I've noticed that new construction in the area has Techshield extending just to the top plates, and then the overhangs are covered with plywood (is this what starter board is?). Is using OSB on overhangs a no no? I'm installing the Techshield foil side up, and a metal roof will be installed on purlins over that. My tests show that this is NECESSARY for a cathedral ceiling in 100+ degree summers in the desert. Techshield foil side down would be a disaster. I'd like the foil to cover the entire roof.
