Adding more insulation would probably be more cost effective - how much insulation do you have now? Adding another hole in the roof is another opportunity for leaks also - not familiar with solar powered vents but unless they are really cheap - would not waste the money. ... |

If you cut the post, treat the end because the pressure treatment will not have penetrated to the center of a 4x4. For upstairs bathroom toiltet I installed 3" closet bend with side 2" inlet vent connection. I have 3" sewer. Yesterday, a plumbing inspector told me to put 3" X 4" closet bend with 2" vent connection. He mentioned the name of the part but I don't remember. I did a google search on parts and the only suitable part I found is 3" X 4" street closet bend ... |

Holes were then bored into the bottoms of the exposed 4x4 wooden posts, into which they placed PVC sleeves.
