roger61611@yahoo.com - Re: Refinance? - 6% is a rip unless your credit is bad or the loan is under 75k. I just bought new and got 5.5%, no points, and a total of just $850 in fees, from AAXA (who I am not employed by). . ...

"Al Bundy" - Re: Husband blames dog for cutting wife's head off with chainsaw - It never hurts to be reminded of safety. Nobody should be on an unstable ladder with a chainsaw. Everybody should be paying complete attention including those on the ground. The dog should have been penned during this work. Years ago I had to jump from a ladder while topping a tree for removal. I pitched the saw away and landed safely. Those on the ground were attentive and stood clear...

Purple Moose - Fiberglass vs. steel entry doors? - I've googled all the info I can find but no one seems to have a definitive answer for my specific question. We have a south facing front entry that gets blasted by the SoCal sun in the morning. Wood doors do not survive it. So we're looking at either fiberglass or steel. Conventional wisdom seems to be that steel is stronger (more secure) and less likely to warp with weather...

Mister Bean - Maytag Neptune 3000 - I have the Maytag Neptune washer MAH3000AWW that I bought in 1998 - and of course, it's been a headache. Maytag repaired it at no charge the first time when it was just over 3 years old - then last year it died, and they supplied the parts (new computer board, and a few other things I think) and I paid the labour, about a year ago. Now it's acting up again - it stopped and turned off ...

trader4@optonline.net - Re: When Is the Right Time? - In the short term, this is always a crap shoot. It depends on how long you plan on owning there and what the real estate market does. A few years like 1 or 2 is different than a few that turns into 8. (Not saying your going to be in school that long, but some wind up with jobs close by, etc) I'd be very wary of buyng for short tem in areas of the country like here in the northeast t...
