"jbclem" - Re: Is this asbestos siding? - I have an old house and all the siding is asbestos. I've had to cut some soffit vents in the top row of the siding, just under the eaves...I've very carefully removed some siding, one piece at a time (12" x 24" pieces), and put it in a garbage can full of water and sawed (underwater) off 2" sections. I think that's pretty safe. I don't like dealing with this stuff, but I haven't found ...

"Ken Moiarty" - Re: Where can I shop for construction equipment (i.e. cement mixer) [Vancouver area]? - Picked it up Monday. Fit in my Colt tight, but fine! BTW, was a poor choice of days for me to cross the border, though. Local Canadian stat. holiday... 90 minute line-ups south-bound on the main routes. I decided I'd allow a few more miles onto the trip by going to an-out-of-the-way crossing, where I was able to cut my wait time down to about 20 minutes. But this added an extra...

"Stretch" - Re: Are these normal issues with contractor's agreement? - There was a company by that name years ago in SC. They got sued so much they left the state, Moved to NC. May be no connection. But companies like names that begin with A, because it puts them first in the phone book. The language of their contract scares me. I would put a big plastic tarp on the roof for now and keep looking for a good contractor. Stretch . ...

rlindstrom@gmail.com - Code Question: Electrical through air vents - We need to get 110v up to the roof, and someone has suggested running it up through an air vent from the restroom so as to avoid another roof penetration. "rj" - Re: Are these normal issues with contractor's agreement? - It is most unusual to find Articles of Incorporation that state specific business activities. The general AI say the "purpose" of the corporation is to "engage in any activities or business permitted under the laws of the United States and Florida." I've never seen Articles of Incorporation that don't use that broad langusge. If they are doing anything other than "roofing, siding and ...

"Phil Scott" - Re: Are these normal issues with contractor's agreement? - "Carolina Breeze HVAC" Your comments are attempts to justify an utterly bogus contract.
