"BP" - Re: Max Slope for 3" or 4" Sewer line to Septic? - Most sewer work is done by professionals with transit and grade rod, so the % unit is easier to work with. Your tank is 80 feet away, 2% of 80 feet is 1.6 feet. So the change in elevation from house to tank is 19.2 inches, which works out to just under 1/4" per foot (80 x .25" = 20"). "minerva nine" - stupid question about oven installations - So how come most built-in wall ovens don't have vents, as are required over cooktops? Those babies get hot. I'm guessing they are insulated sufficiently that anything touching the cabinet doesn't get hot enough to ignite it, but I just don't understand the logic behind requiring vent hoods above cooktops, while wall ovens are unvented. Anyone know why this is? M9 . ...

"Jeff" - Re: Fixing running toilet - I had a similar problem with a Kohler toilet. I replaced the flapper twice but the toilet still leaked.... The problem was in the gasket between the flapper seat and the porcelain. I found out about this problem reading in a Kohler newsgroup. It seems that several models of Kohler toilets have this gasket problem. The Koehler dealer acknowledged this defect when I ordered a replacem...

"ANDY WIERSMA" - Re: Brand New House - Small Cracks in Basement - Normal? - No, you don't want cracks. Yes it is common. You can have them repaired, by the builder most likely. You can also use a number of different methods to fix them. I would "live" in it for a while to see what else pops up.There is no worry unless you notice an exterme amount of water. wrote in message news:1122260143.272908.33660@g49g2000cwa.googlegroups.com... > Three we...

jam6444@yahoo.com - Brick window jambs - Most brick techical bulletins advise a 1" min airspace between brick and sheathing. That's fine and that's the way I want it. Problem is, I'm drawing this section on CAD and when I insert a window jamb section provided by the manuf., there is very little (1/4" or less) overlap between the brick mould/frame and the back face of the brick. Is this standard? Doesn't look like you could ...
