I then asked a clerk in the section where I thought it most likely would be. The clerk did not know what Contact Cement was, "never heard of it".. I then went to a small local Hardware store. ] [ 153047 ] [ alt.building.construction ] [ view full article ] dynamorph@hotmail.com - Can I flare a gable roof at the bottom? - I just built a 8x20 porch with a simple half gable roof (not a hip roof). Just finished putting up the roof decking. Looking at it from the house, I think it would look better if the roof were a bit narrower at the top than the bottom (giving the effect of the hip roof I guess). Would it be ok to leave 6-8" overhang at top, and 12" at the bottom? The roof would then be 8-12" wide... |

He suggested exterior latex. That's what I used and it was still good last time I checked. Sounds like the pipe in your situation will be flexing a bit more, so 30 years might be a stretch.
