"Joe" - Re: Math question - If you scribe an arc of 57 5/16" on a sheet of plywood and cut it on the curve, each inch around the arc is 1 degree. This is a good "field" protractor. It's pretty accurate for laying out footings, walls, ect. Even 30 seconds is a ½" difference almost 5'. Obviously not as accurate as a transit but close enough for field work. -- Joe you can do that on an 8x11. or the back of ...

It couldn't possibly be the guy who runs billion dollar jobs asking a stupid question like that. That's what I thought becasue he knows so much more about building than I have learned in 40 years of doing it, so he MUST know that a 1" fall in 60' is less than a 1" fall in 6'. -- ...

jplasater@NOSPAMjuno.com - Looking for Tamco shingles - Several months ago I bought some Tamco shingles to roof my house . They are the 30 year Heritage Weatherwood shingles that come in a red package. Last week the roofer was roofing my house with these shingles and ran out of shingles. I went back to the supplier and found out that they were discontinued and no longer made. Apparently, in May Tamco discontinued making these shingles and ...

"clintonG" - Re: Sag-Ender... Is this thing legit? - Its just a type of bridged brace. Nothing more, nothing less. This type of bridged brace can be made from scrap 2x4 lumber and 3/4" plywood which would perform structurally much better at a lower cost. IMO the product would most likely not function as advertised which is why the vendor does not show the product's load bearing surface in cross-section. <%= Clinton Gallagher ...
