"Bobk207" - Re: half circuit - By know I hope that the doubters in this group have realized that P. Fritz was correct. Perhaps not about the vibration per se but an overload downsteam can cause a marginal connection in the circuit to fail. Either by mechanical or electrial means; seen this many times. Lots of amps can make the conductors really jump. cheers Bob . ...

"Peter Shepherd" - Re: roof vent... - http://www.canambuildingenvelope.com/files/pdfs/330-1026.pdf Describes remediation of roofs where roof vents were added and/or attic floor insulation as well, without very careful air-sealing beforehand. Thanks for challenging me to come up with a link. I was just about to triple the amount of cellulose into a client's attic after minimal airsealing of electrical boxes. Now ...

"Peter Shepherd" - Re: roof vent... - I agree that with high insulation levels & very good vapour barrier that unlimited attic ventilation would be great & would certainly lengthen roof life & minimize condensation risk. Perhaps the caution against too much attic ventilation had to do with the less-than-ideal attic insulation levels of many houses. I don't have a link at hand to support this statment as to why too much...

ransley@webtv.net (m Ransley) - Re: roof vent... - That is what insulation is for, you want the attic as close as possibe to outside temps so condensation does not occur. It is unheated. Fans can literaly pull out interior air, not static venting. Show a link for proof of overventing. . ...

"Peter Shepherd" - Re: roof vent... - No, you can over-vent and draw heat out of a building in winter, if you're in a cold climate. In Canada building code asks for 1' sq vent/300' sq of flat attic roof; best to cut in soffit vents also. Turbine vents have a bad reputation as on hot still days, when they're most needed, they may stand stock still, whereas on cold windy days they may draw out a lot of attic air. acce...

"James" - Re: Water Volume of 30 inch culvert?? - Thanks for all the helpful replies. This is a great group !! Yes, this involves the use of a 30 inch culvert seated on a concrete bottom, used for a water reservoir at a spring.
