Who knows whether the new Hawaiian effort will succeed. A main problem is that even "fast" ferries are S_L_O_W compared with air - so slow that one couldn't do a one-day business trip to another island. Rough seas slowed them down even more. It is a common way to travel here on the coast of Norway, and also between Norway, Denmark and Sweden. Perhaps the low cost of flying in the caribbean is the answer to why those ships are not seen?
