The financial problems BonairExcel is having leads one to believe there is barely enough traffic to keep an airline between them in business. And being on both Bonaire and Curaçao I saw no evidence of there being a ferry between them. The ferry between Martinique-Dominica-Guadeloupe is fast. The problem is the distances are far. The people that use this ferry are not tourists but mostly regular people. Like Dominican workers returning to Guadeloupe after Carnival. No way would they pay for a luxury ferry. I gather there is a lot more wealth in Hawaii than in the Caribbean. (I've never been, a bit far from the East Coast.) |
