] [ 341757 ] [ misc.consumers.house ] [ view full article ] "Ted B." - MTD lawn tractor design flaw? - A few months ago, we bought a house in New York with over 2 acres of landscaped yard. Obviously, I needed a lawn tractor to care for it, but I didn't want to spend too much money on it. I was happy to find a Troy-Bilt "Pony" (779) at Lowe's for a thousand bucks. For those who don't know, this is manufactured by MTD, the same company that makes the ultra high-end Cub Cadet lawn tr... |

But soon after, I had to fiddle with the way the "chain" hooks up. (I no longer recall why, but almost certainly I had to fiddle for the same reason this plastic "chain" continues to curse itself) Soon, the stainless clip snapped (!?) I substituted a short piece of copper wire. But once every few months, the middle... |

It is either the wireless transmitter or the wireless receiver. The literature with the fan says that the warranty is 10 years, but the fine print says that most of the fan is in fact warranteed for ONE year. For $165 plus shipping, Casablanca says they will fix it (and warrantee it for 90 days). Hah.... |

The brickwork extends down to the basement below, and there's a "thimble" opening (I think that's the right term) about 10" in diameter on the basement wall (8" inner diameter). Is there a decorative gadget made to cover this up? We want to us this wall as an architectural accent in our basement pub, but that gaping hole is a problem. ... |
