Decorative way to cover a thimble?

We have a masonry fireplace on our first floor. The brickwork extends down to the basement below, and there's a "thimble" opening (I think that's the right term) about 10" in diameter on the basement wall (8" inner diameter). Is there a decorative gadget made to cover this up? We want to us this wall as an architectural accent in our basement pub, but that gaping hole is a problem. I've Googled for this, but have come up short so far. Something made of cast iron would be ideal, to fit with the decor. Thanks in advance John . |
