The other Mike - Ice maker help - Have a 1 1/2 year old Kenmore double door refrigerator that has an ice maker. It stopped working about 2 days ago. There is ice in the tray and there are no obstacles blocking the infra-red "eye" when you close the door. I put a hairdryer to the icemaker defrosting everything (after reading posts suggesting to do this) but it didn't resolve the issue. I guess I'm at the point where I...

"Aidan" - Re: Need attic advice urgently, please. - If the room is rented, you're not allowed to do anything to it unless you get the owner's permission. Even if you did, I wouldn't recommend spending your money on someone else's property. If it gets that hot due to solar gain, is there sufficient/any insulation under the slates? Does it also get very cold in winter & cost a fortune to keep warm? Are there storage spaces at low level ...

"nielloeb@hotmail.com" - Re: Exclusive right to sell, who pays whom? - A broker is the real estate agent's boss. The broker provides their agents with office space and papers and common help such as closing attorneys. The agents provide the broker with business, usually in the form of a percentage of the percentage made on home sales. Brokers in small offices also do their own listings. The commission is split between the buying agent and selling agen...

trader4@optonline.net - Re: Substance detectors everyone needs. - The one everyone should have is a smoke detector. At least one for each level of the house, preferably wired together so they all will go off if one alerts. After that, CO is also very important, if you have sources in the house that burn fuels and could generate CO, ie gas/oil furnace, gas water heater, wood stove, etc. If all you have are elec appliances/heat pump, etc, then yo...

roger61611@yahoo.com - Re: Contract with my realtor - Couples often buy a house using one name only, that is, a husband might buy a house because the wife still has massive student loans in her name. But you and your realtor need a signed agreement, or the realtor needs to sign a release, or something, so that the realtor can't com...
