Joy Hardie - Tulum Cabanas? - Anybody have experience staying at any of the Tulum cabanas? I don't mind rustic but........ 1. I think I read somewhere that they are not very secure and people dig under the stick walls to rob you during the night. 2. Also think I realize more of a "backpacking"/ "hippie" crowd tend to frequent them......so I don't want the smell of marajuana wafting into my cabana.....o...

If you are docked in Phillipsburg, there are a few rental places right at the dock. They were so eager to rent me a car that I bartered beteween the competing companies for a minivan right there. I would definitely recommend driving around the island... some highlights would include baie rouge for a pretty lazy morning...
