Hi, Although I follow real estate new somewhat, I wanted some straight foward opinions on the current housing market from others. I just sold my principle residence having the feeling that prices were about to decline ( I owned in one of those double digit increase areas in suburban NY). I enjoyed watching the prices go up, up, up and figured it's time to jump ship and rent for a while. I realized an 800% gain. My question is. With the high heating costs anticipated for this winter, the overheated prices, the increasing taxes and interest rates, when do you think it would be a good time to jump back in? How much will prices declince before settling down again? I read where inventories are way up in many areas and this will pressure price declines and trigger another buyer's market that we saw a decade ago. What regions are most susceptible and where is a good place to invest in real estate now..or in the future? |
