This whole thing seems to be a case of putting the crayons on the refrigerator because one of the children drew on the wall. It is a violation of the code of ethics to interfere with another broker's listing. It would seem that if ethics really mattered to realtors they would police themselves and deal with the unethical bums rather than change the rules to make it harder for honest realtors to do their jobs. The rule I have lived by is anyone who takes defensive action against me because I might cheat them is the one who needs to be watched. If the MLS Board members don't trust me to play fair, I think they are the ones with the ethics problem. After all isn't ethics all about expecting others to treat you with the same respect you treat them?
