Choosing a Realtor is very important when selling your house. The main thing to consider is whether or not the Realtor is a presence in your area. Look at the real estate classified ads in your local newspaper. See which Realtors advertise prominently, as well as ones that have other houses for sale in your area. Call several and interview them. Make sure and ask them several questions such as: Where and how often will my house be advertised? Will you(the agent) accompany all showings? Will you hold an "open house"? Do you recommend putting the property on the local Multiple Listing Service? Do you recommend a "for sale" sign in the yard? Where do you get the majority of your buyers?
