I am a realtor but do not drive Mr and Mrs Jones around for three weeks so they can see all of the by-owner signs. I do investment properties throughout the state. It is a different business and my clients are mostly experienced investors who use me to find deals for them. When someone wants to sell a house on their own, I unbundle the services. I can't look you in the eye and take 30 grand from you for selling your house. I work hard but I am not doing brain surgery. I'll put the house in MLS for them and recommend a spiff to the selling agent. In a tight market with the right house, someone will be glad to pick up a few thousand for showing the house. I will supervise the administrative part of the selling the house. Inspections, mortgage, title, negotiations, review of contracts, etc. Again, I do it for a fee not a percentage. I have an office assistant that does most of the work. |
