I am not implying that Vegas is not subject to large numbers of foreclosures. Las Vegas is just as likely, if not more likely in some cases, to experience the increase in foreclosures right along with the rest of the country. But the increase in foreclosures does not change the fact that the city's population will continue to grow at a staggering rate. There is only so much land available to Las Vegas, but it will not slow the influx of people into the Valley. What I was stating in the original text of my posting is that investors SHOULD keep their eyes on Las Vegas, not only because of its looming foreclosure market on the near horizon, but with predictions of the population doubling within the next 25 years, that means some 2 million people will be in search of housing in the years to come.
