Alexander, I really liked this book by Spencer Strauss and Martin Stone: "The Unofficial Guide to Real Estate Investing". While it tends to lean towards the subject of landlording, it gives nice easy to understand examples of what money you'll need, when and what your cash flow should be like in order for a rental to be a good investment. Of course, that's not all.
