Are condos and townhomes bad investments??

The way I see it, there are two problems investing in Condos or Townhomes: #1) There is always the monthly association fee, which is often a couple hundred bucks a month. And, #2) You don't actually own the land where your investment is sitting on. Who owns this land then?? On the plus side though, condominiums seem to be at least 1/3rd cheaper than a house, which makes them attractive in that respect. Is my thinking on this wrong?? Please tell me your thoughts on this. I appreciate it, and thanks. . |
