Yes you can buy investment property with your IRA. As long as you don't personally use the property say like a lake house, or cabin that you visit on weekends. You can buy investment property with a standard IRA and or Roth. Yes you will have to move your money to another custodian, but you will not be charged a penalty for doing so.
