Timeshare Business Development Question

Greetings, I have some land in on the outskirts of a town in Panama. Tourism is a significant industry in the town, due to the elevation (no steamy days here), scenic views, and ecological diversity. I am thinking of developing a small six-unit cottage resort complete with an American Menu restuarant. I have access to a prime contractor in the area who has extensive experience building quality residential structures. My main problem is financing. I just don't have enough to get started. I own the land outright, and I could build very slowly over the next 5 years, but of course a resort under construction cannot turn a profit. I am considering offering up 156 one-week timeshare lots @ $1750. apiece. I know I will need to let potential timeshare holders know the resort is not developed yet and give them timelines for ground-breaking or getting their money back. |
