Your contemplated rental would rob you of the benefit of taking a tax free gain on your old residence (assuming there is one). Consider selling the old residence tax free then buying a fresh investment house or units. There are few opportunities to escape paying taxes on income, kicking a tax free gain to the curb voilates rules plus you'll never gain entrance into investor's heaven. . |
