Thanks for all the replies - I meant the seller changed their mind - that was a typo. We had a signed contract ie they accepted our offer and had even faxed it to their attorney and we were in the attorney review phase.Our attorney said that the seller can back out without giving any reasons and did not provide us with any more help or suggestions beyond it. The house is in NJ.Our realtor told us that sellers get emotional and we should take this as a lesson and move on. We would have but we saw the for sale by owner sign - earlier they were listed thru remax. This makes me think they want to keep the commission money for themselves , and so backed out of the whole deal.We have looked at the contracts we signed with our realtor and we dont think we are violating anything if we rebid - still we feel a little uneasy , but on the other hand we really loved the house. We are not a protected class - also we were |
