this particular install is a spray-on where the foam is both insulation and the waterproof layer. Hence, holes become a big deal, especially when the foam appears to be "open cell" which absorbs moisture once the outer skin is broken. Gravel is spread over the flat part to protect from sun, birds, and fire cinders I presume. The problem is that the short vertical sections to the parapets, and the edges around the canalles are exposed, and the critters appear to like the taste. So... looking for a do-it-yourself installed closed-cell foam, or glue down membrane, or something to seal these up and protect from UV, water, and animals. d . |
