I'm afraid it sounds like the HOA is completely in the right, although no one should ever have told you it was ok... unless you said she'd be doing "babysitting" instead of "in-home day care". There is a difference, and what you've described is not babysitting, it's day care. Day care providers need to be licensed/certified in many states, and it's certainly a business. Looks like your options are: work to get the covenants changed (unlikely), move, have your wife find a new job, or suffer without the extra income. -- Jennifer . |
