Plus, the other attorney always sends some kind of a rider to be added to the contract or requests that some things be removed. Mostly they have to do with extending certain deadlines, like if the seller request mortgage commitment in 3 weeks, the buyers attorney may request that their client gets 4 weeks. This is just one example. In my last contract, buyer's attorney asked me to testify that there ae no underground oil tanks anywhere near by. I responded that I have not personally done any archeological work in the area therefore I won't be testifying about anything of that sort. It also depends on the market.
