"You *MUST* keep the filter running at all times if you wish to keep this spa hygienic and safe for human use. As for the heating issues, you're better off just keeping it some stable temperature. I keep mine at about 90F in the summers and 101F in the winters. " A spa pump doesn't need to be running constantly to keep it safe. Normally, just having the heater come on to occasionally warm the spa is all that's needed, unless you set the temp so low that it never comes on or comes on very infrequently. As far as keeping it at 101 in the winter, a lot depends on how you use it. If you only use it occasionally and predictably, then you can either use a timer to raise the temp ahead of time, or you can turn it up a couple hours prior to use. Reducing the temp from 101 to say 85, for long periods will save on energy. Also, there is plenty of spa care info on the web which a simple search will find. . |
