Liftmaster Electronic Eye Problem

We have a Liftmaster 2220. When there is direct sunlight hitting one of the two electronic safety reversing sensors, the door will not close. The only way I can get the door to close in the daylight is to press and hold down the 'close' button on the external keypad. And more than half the time I have to do this three or four times before the door will actually close. The remotes will not close it at all. Highly inconvenient. When I brought this up to a guy at a local install/repair place last week he insisted that sunlight never has anything to do with closing problems and had me check the 'force' setting. This made no difference. When I called back today he said that I was the third person who called today with this issue, so he is starting to believe, but does not have an answer. Do any of you?? Thanks . . . . |
