underpad upgrade ?

I am a first time home buyer, and the carpet from buildre is 40 oz. nylon with 7/16" chip foam under pad. I plan to keep the carpet as the builder provided. My question is if the 7/16" chip foam under pad is good enough for 40 oz. nylon carpet ? Do I need to upgrade underpad, which builder will charge me $1100 for upgrade for a 1200 sq ft area ? Any comments are appreciated. Thanks. . |
