Someone said don't leave it on all night -- I don't. What I like to do is turn it on after I come back from walk in the evening, generally a 1 hr to 15 minutes before sunset. And turn it off at bedtime. The flickering problem is for about 10 to 30 minutes, very close to sunset time (depends upon how clear the sky is, summer vs. winter months, etc. -- basically, angle of sun. The "photosensitive eye" sensor is teeny, tiny, less than 1/4" diameter, tiny glass, embedded in the base of the lamp. The size is same or smaller than what is found in many night lamps.
