Looks like you need to add 2 switches (or a 2-gang switch) at the basement end of the stairs. That way, - the existing 3-way will controll the hallway lights - 1 new switch for the basement lights - 1 new switch for the ceiling fan If the live wire to the 3-way switches is at the basement end, you can tap off that and fish a neutral to the other 3-way. Otherwise, you have to fish a live from the other 3-way switch and use the neutral on the basement end. Either way, you need to fish a switched hot to the fan. |
