3-way switch wiring - seperate one light?

I've have two 3 way switches in my basement - both switches control all the lights in the hallway down the stairs in the basement and the lights in the ceiling in the basement. The two switches are at both end of the stairs. I'm trying to figure out how to seperate the hallway light from the others. I have a ceiling fan in the basement that I would like to use without the hallway lights being on all the time. I guess I could remove all the lightbulbs in the hallway lamp..... I was looking for something like a remote X10 device that I thought I might be able to wire into the hallway lamp to not send current to it when activated - but don't think this exists. Any ideas from anyone? Thanks, . |
