Hello I need some advice here - last week my husband and I made an offer on a home, which was accepted. Contracts were signed, and the buyer had to give our agent a 2.5% commission.During attorney review the buyers backed out because they found someone else who had a closing date more suitable to them. Yesterday we were in the neighborhood for an open house and saw an 'For sale by owner sign' with the address and phone number of the home we had bid for.This sign was not there earlier. We really liked the house and want to speak to the sellers and try to see if they accept our offer with a new closing date and do the whole thing as for sale by owner. Since our real estate agent made us sign something so she could be a buyer's agent, would doing this be illegal unless we kept her in the loop and then negotiated with her that we paid her a discounted commission.Or since our offer was refused it |
