hi I'm a life long resident of the Sacramento area, and I'd say two things one build your home above sea level and two while earthquackes are a concern I would woory a whole lot more about fire. Contractors are still building homes right next to each other out of 2x4's and you would think that sense the three little pigs knew better we would too. Look for alturnative building materials you might check out http://tinyurl.com/4yhub or some others but I'll never live in a stick home again.
