But so is the anticipated savings! If you only use small qtys of HW at once, you could use a smaller tank to begin with. There are two components of water tank energy use - heating the water from cold to final temp, and standby loss keeping it there. The "use" part, you would save nothin. Standby loss isn't a high rate of loss, though the less water you use, the higher proportion of total energy used, it is. |
