It can't make hot water fast enough to make it as you go (that would be a "tankless" heater, search on that). You'd need to "lead" the timing - if you wait until you leave for it to turn off, then you walk out on a tank of hot water, which will be cold by the time you get home, and if it doesn't turn back on until then, then you won't have any hot water for hours. |
