Trusting a homebuilder is a good way to get the shaft, 15% of all new homes have a serious defect. Does your contract with Centex permit you to have an inspection ? If not, that's not good. Either way you need to get an inspector out there and the money ($325 here in the midwest, assuredly more there) will be worth it, either to find whatever they messed up, or for piece of mind. Inspectors can I think do a deal where they'll do a package of inspections at various phases of construction. Check everything the previous post mentioned and take pictures/video, and if you have to do this surreptitiously because Centex won't let you inspect, then do so. Also check grade and if you can, also it would have been good to check to see if they put the go***mn Tyvek on correctly. 99% of builders suck. . |
