Check your furnace manual. They might have a trouble shooting section. On my furnace, there's a small glass window (size of a quarter) that you look through to view an LED light. When there is a fault, it will blink and the number of times it blinks corresponds to a trouble code in the manual. Furnaces usually have some sort of flame sensor. The idea is that the flames will heat it up to generate millivolt current to keep the gas valve open. I had a problem where this sensor had some dust on it such that it was generating insufficient voltage thereby causing the furnace to go on/off. Or it could be that the sensor is defective. So if you take the cover off the furnace, you might see the sensor near the burners (make sure you switch the furnace off before you do this!). Try vacuuming to get all of the dust off. . |
