You pay for both policies at closing. The seller selected the title company? Why? The title company used is determined by you and/or the lender unless the seller has agreed to pay some of the title co. costs. You will get insurance policies from the title company after closing. You normally close at the title company or at the lenders office. You need an owners policy to protect you in the event that someone claims ownership to some or all of the property. The lender needs a policy in the event of the same problem. Your policy is optional, the lenders is not. Always get one anyway. . |
